Season opener at the Fargodome against crosstown rival Fargo South. The Spartans set the tone for what would become the perfect 25-0 season with a commanding 27-point win.

Tyler Koenig led the way with 18 points on 6-of-10 from inside the arc, and Jon Erdmann added 17 with four three-pointers. Tommy Leikas chipped in 11, and Persons added 10. The Spartans shot 41% from the field overall and held South to under 25%.
